About the venue

Litomyšl Castle is a Renaissance château from the second half of the 16th century, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. It is known for its arcaded courtyard and sgraffito-decorated facades. Every summer the castle hosts the Smetanova Litomyšl opera festival, honouring the composer Bedřich Smetana, who was born in the castle's brewery.
