📍 Frýdlant Lookout Tower

About the venue

The brick lookout tower, built in 1907 on Frýdlantská výšina (399 m a.s.l.) north of the town, replaced a wooden predecessor from 1890 that couldn't withstand the local climate. A hundred steps lead up to the viewing gallery at 18.6 m, with views stretching to Frýdlant castle, the Jizerské and Lužické mountains, and across the border into Poland. Between 1958 and 1979 the tower served as an aviation radio beacon; it has been open to visitors again since 1982.
