Přerov

About the venue

The Comenius Museum in Přerov is a regional museum housed in the Renaissance château that dominates the town's historic conservation zone. Founded in 1888, it moved into the château in the early 1930s. Permanent exhibitions cover the life and work of Jan Amos Comenius, the archaeology of the Přerov region (including finds from the mammoth-hunters' site at Předmostí), Haná ethnography, entomology, and mineralogy. The institution also operates Helfštýn Castle and the ORNIS ornithological station.
