About the venue

Koupaliště Michal is a natural lido built on a reclaimed open-cast coal mine that was filled in 1995, forming a 30-hectare lake with a sandy beach stretching over 500 m - earning it the nickname "Sokolov Sea". The water ranks among the cleanest of any natural bathing site in the Czech Republic. The centrepiece is a 190-metre water slide, one of the longest outdoor slides in Central Europe. Summer brings concerts and open-air cinema to the site.
