About the venue

Sokolov's city theatre occupies the historic Hornický dům (Miners' House) from 1922, a listed cultural monument. The theatre hall was created by converting the former Svět cinema and opened on 13 November 1998. It is run by Městský dům kultury Sokolov, a municipal cultural organisation that stages theatre performances, concerts, festivals and workshops here throughout the year. A theatre subscription series and a film club are also on offer.
