Historical Celebrations in Kolín 2026
A historical event dedicated to the 1914-1918 period featuring period fencing, historical music, and authentic atmosphere. Organized by the Páni z Kolína group on Kmochův Island.
Kmochův ostrov is the larger of Kolín's two Elbe islands - a park of nearly 6 hectares, reached by footbridges from both riverbanks. It has carried the name of bandmaster František Kmoch since 1932; he held public concerts here from 1872 and is commemorated by a statue on the island. In summer the island hosts cultural events, mainly in the open-air amphitheatre (completed 2008) and the historic bandstand. There is also a disc-golf course and the Maják lookout tower, built in 2015.
