The historical fencing and period music group Páni z Kolína organizes the traditional historical event Turbulent Years 1914-1918 on Kmochův Island in Kolín. It takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

About the venue: Kmoch's Island

Kmochův ostrov is the larger of Kolín's two Elbe islands - a park of nearly 6 hectares, reached by footbridges from both riverbanks. It has carried the name of bandmaster František Kmoch since 1932; he held public concerts here from 1872 and is commemorated by a statue on the island. In summer the island hosts cultural events, mainly in the open-air amphitheatre (completed 2008) and the historic bandstand. There is also a disc-golf course and the Maják lookout tower, built in 2015.
