Sázava Monastery - Summer with Déčko
A summer holiday quest at Sázava Monastery where families solve puzzles and tasks to rescue Déčko, running through August.
Sázava Monastery stands on a rocky spur above the Sázava river and ranks among the most important national cultural monuments in Bohemia. St. Procopius founded the Benedictine community here around 1032, and throughout the 11th century it served as a centre of Old Church Slavonic liturgy and learning. The complex bears traces of Gothic rebuilding and a Baroque restoration by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer after the 1746 fire. Today two separate guided circuits are on offer - one run by the National Heritage Institute, the other by the local Roman Catholic parish.
