Composer and musician Ondřej Smeykal performs at Klášter Sázava on Thursday, 27 August 2026 at 6 p.m. The concert takes place in the historic Benedictine monastery founded by St. Prokop around 1032, one of the Czech Republic's most significant national cultural monuments. The monastery stands on a rocky promontory above the Sázava River, providing a distinctive setting for the performance. About the venue: Sázava Monastery

Sázava Monastery stands on a rocky spur above the Sázava river and ranks among the most important national cultural monuments in Bohemia. St. Procopius founded the Benedictine community here around 1032, and throughout the 11th century it served as a centre of Old Church Slavonic liturgy and learning. The complex bears traces of Gothic rebuilding and a Baroque restoration by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer after the 1746 fire. Today two separate guided circuits are on offer - one run by the National Heritage Institute, the other by the local Roman Catholic parish.
