Prague in Detail
A unique exhibition reveals the anatomy of Prague's monuments through the "X-ray vision" of painter Tomáš Rygl. Over 36 paintings expose the hidden logic and principles of famous buildings from Prague Castle to Vyšehrad.
The Minorite Monastery next to St. James's Church in the Old Town is one of the oldest monasteries in the Czech lands, founded around 1232 under King Wenceslas I. The complex spans styles from Gothic to High Baroque and includes Romanesque cellars, a Gothic cloister and the Hortus Angelicus herb garden. In 1311 it hosted the wedding feast of John of Luxembourg and Elizabeth of Bohemia. Since late 2024 the monastery has been open to visitors and also hosts concerts, exhibitions and conferences.
