Kino Mír sits in the centre of Opava, close to the Silesian Theatre. The building dates from 1911-1912, when it was constructed as a theatre and concert hall; it has been a cinema since 1965. A full renovation in 2018 brought digital projection and a refreshed 500-seat auditorium with a ceiling designed to resemble a starry sky. Alongside regular film screenings and the Filmový klub, the venue hosts theatre performances, concerts, and talks.
