Hlučínská štěrkovna - officially Hlučínské jezero - was created in 1990 by flooding a former gravel pit on the southwestern edge of Hlučín. The lake covers over 131 ha with a maximum depth of 4 m, and the surrounding recreational area includes beaches, a wake park, minigolf, a boat rental and a campsite. The international music festival Štěrkovna Open Music takes place here every summer.
