Franta and Joža – Works by the Uprka Brothers from the Gallery Collection
Exhibition showcasing the artistic legacy of the Uprka brothers, celebrated Czech painters, drawn from the gallery's own collection.
The Gallery of Fine Arts in Hodonín was founded in 1960 and is a contributory organisation of the South Moravian Region. It is housed in the former clubhouse of the Association of Moravian Fine Artists (SVUM) and manages over 5,000 collection items spanning painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking and photography. The gallery focuses on Czech and Moravian art of the 20th and 21st centuries as well as works by Slovak and Austrian artists. The permanent exhibition presents the founding generation of SVUM, including Joža Uprka, Alfons Mucha, Alois Kalvoda and Stanislav Lolek.
