Břetislav Malý (born 1985, Hradec Králové) is a Czech painter who studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology. His work focuses on the physical and material properties of painting itself - he builds up dense, relief-like surfaces from layers of paint and graphite pigment that shift in appearance with changing light. He has shown work in Czech and international galleries, including the Kampa Museum in Prague and a show in Krems, Austria.
