About the venue

The Franciscan Monastery of the Fourteen Holy Helpers in Kadaň is a national cultural monument perched on a promontory above the Ohře River, home to a Franciscan community from 1473 to 1950. It is the oldest pilgrimage site dedicated to the Fourteen Holy Helpers in the Czech Republic. Highlights include unique cellular vaulting and wall paintings from the circle of Lucas Cranach the Elder. Today it houses the Kadaň City Museum with guided tours; the grounds host concerts, festivals and a harvest festival. The monastery is a candidate for UNESCO listing.
