Luděk Rathouský - Perceived Connections
An exhibition of over 160 paintings and drawings by Luděk Rathouský that weaves autobiographical memory, historical imagination and medieval iconography into a distinctive artistic vision.
A gallery and cultural centre opened in November 1993 in the buildings of a former city brewery dating from 1606-1608. The permanent exhibition covers the life and work of expressionist painter Egon Schiele (1890-1918), whose mother was born in Český Krumlov - on display are drawings, watercolours, Schiele's own furniture and his death mask. Across 3,000 m² of exhibition space, the centre also hosts rotating shows of classical and contemporary 20th- and 21st-century art, studios for international artists, a museum shop and a café.
