The Dům kultury in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm opened in 1964 - its construction was only completed thanks to the determination of local cultural workers and trade unionists at a time when similar projects were being halted elsewhere. After fifty years without major repairs, the building was fully renovated from 2015 onwards, with the new interior designed by the Brno-based studio Velehradský. Today it houses a cinema in the Europa Cinemas network, the Albín Polášek exhibition hall, and a public library. The programme covers concerts, theatre, festivals, and lectures; halls and club rooms are available for hire.
