Zrní

The Kladno-based band Zrní has been playing since 2001 in an unchanged line-up - five former classmates from grammar school, which is a genuine rarity on the Czech music scene. Over 25 years, they have developed a distinctive sound in which a rock core meets violins, electronics, and layered, metaphorical lyrics in Czech. The musicians themselves describe their work as "gentle artbrut" or "Kladno coal zen" and draw inspiration from natural laws and landscape, while also reflecting on fast-paced, industrial contemporary life.

In 2026, the band concluded the concert era connected with their album "Široko daleko" and moved into the studio, where they spent months working on new music. The creative process was accompanied by a practical constraint: song lengths had to stay around 40 minutes so that all the material would fit on a classic vinyl record without compromise.
