The production is built around a world of animals and their sounds. A kitten raised only among puppies has completely forgotten how to meow - and because it wants to ask the farmer's wife for milk, it sets out into the world to discover how cats actually sound. Along the way, it meets an optimistic cow, a playful hen, an eternally hungry pig, and a poet goat. Each animal shows the kitten its world and its voice.
