Modernization of Technická × Královopolská Intersection

BKOM is modernizing the traffic signal system at the Technická × Královopolská intersection in Brno-Žabovřesky. The work is part of the next phase of development of Brno's intelligent transport system (ITS).

The traffic lights will receive new equipment and cabling, with the addition of traffic cameras and video detectors. The intersection will also be equipped with C-ITS technology, which enables the exchange of traffic information between infrastructure and vehicles. The project includes improvements to sidewalks, landscaping, and public transport stops - the bus stop is being relocated to the opposite side of the intersection, in front of it, along with changes to road surfaces and pedestrian routes.

Stop bays with concrete surfaces are already complete. Currently, asphalt is being laid in the adjacent traffic lane and sidewalks are being paved at the public transport stops in the direction from the city centre.
