Hana

It is winter 1954 and nine-year-old Mira, defying her parents' ban, sets out to slide down the river on ice floes. She falls into the water and is punished by being denied dessert at a family celebration. This innocent childhood incident, however, marks a turning point in Mira's life. What follows is a tragedy that binds her for many years to her silent and depressive aunt Hana, and reveals a troubled family history. Why does Hana cowardly withdraw into her own world? Why does she hide her past from her niece - a past that would make her a hero? Will the family be able to dissolve the darkness in their history?
