Fargo

The Coen Brothers' Fargo (1996) tells the story of a botched kidnapping that spirals into a series of bloody murders. A pregnant police officer, played by Frances McDormand, follows the trail of the criminals.

While the film is based on true events, the Coens transformed it into their distinctive style - sharp characters, brilliant dialogue, dark humor, and the snow-covered plains of western Minnesota captured by cinematographer Roger Deakins.
