Description was written before the event

How many courses made up the dinner of young princes and princesses? What delicacies were served at grand banquets and everyday meals at the Schwarzenberg table? The youngest visitors will discover the answers during a guided tour of the castle kitchen with the castle cook.

About the venue: Hluboká Castle

Hluboká Castle (Schloss Frauenberg) rises on a steep promontory above the Vltava river, about 9 km north of České Budějovice. The site began as a royal fortress in the 13th century and passed to the Schwarzenberg family in 1661; between 1840 and 1871 they rebuilt it in the romantic Neo-Gothic style modelled on Windsor Castle. The National Heritage Institute now administers the castle, which stays open year-round across several guided tour routes. The former riding hall next door houses the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery, known for its Dutch and Flemish masters.
