Curiosities of Prague's Islands
A guided walk from the Dancing House to Žofín Island will bring you closer to the place where A. Jirásek lived and created for 27 years, and reveal the famous musical duo that the Dancing House symbolizes. Participants will discover that Prague also has its own leaning tower and learn about a building that was described in the 1930s as "like a punch in the eye".
The programme will also touch on the founding of the first Czech singing society and its headquarters. On Žofín Island, you will hear about places where concerts were held, dancing took place, swimming, washing, and dyeing occurred, and sculptures of notable artists will be presented. On Střelecký Island, participants will be reminded of two significant historical events.
