Duo Jedlinský - Fischer feat. Norbi Kovács: 300 vlaků — Theatre 29, Pardubice

Accordionist Jakub Jedlinský and violinist Pavel Fischer form a duo that moves fluidly between folk, classical music, and jazz. Their world music draws from Moravian, Balkan, Jewish, Irish, and Roma influences, alternating quieter passages with rhythmically varied and dramatic moments. At the Pardubice concert, they will present their new studio album 300 vlaků (Galen Records), with guitarist Norbi Kovács as a guest, who contributed significantly to the album.

Pavel Fischer is a violinist and professor of violin at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and also teaches at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. After his studies, he co-founded the Škampa Quartet and as its leader has performed on leading world stages. Jakub Jedlinský, an accordionist, bandoneon player, and teacher at the Pardubice Conservatory, plays in Escualo Quintet (Argentine tango, music of Astor Piazzolla) and the band Bardolino. Duo Jedlinský - Fischer also performs with violinist and singer Iva Bittová.

Guitarist and composer Norbi Kovács comes from the Slovak-Hungarian border region and has lived in Prague since the early 1990s. He has played with Petr Skoumál, Radůza, and Mario Bihári, and currently performs in Ivan Hlas Trio and the band Kybabu with Olin Nejezchlebek. He composes music for films and documentaries - including U mě dobrý, Occam's Razor, Unbreakable, and The Second Life of Jitka K.
