SpaceBuzz — Mobile Exhibition with Rocket

Brno

Description was written before the event

SpaceBuzz Tour 2026 is an educational roadshow prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with the Czech Space Journey project. The opening took place on May 18, 2026, at Moravian Square in Brno, from where an 18-meter mobile rocket equipped with cutting-edge VR technology, hydraulic seats, and a motion platform embarks on a journey through 21 Czech cities (until June 13, 2026). A virtual 15-minute flight to orbit — known as the Overview Effect — is primarily intended for pre-booked students from the second level of primary schools and corresponding gymnasium grades. The public at Moravian Square could view giant inflatable models of planets (Sun, Earth, Mars), a model of the black hole Singulon, an exhibition about the black hole phenomenon, an educational zone run by universities, and a technology zone. The program included a flyover by a military helicopter, demonstrations of military equipment, and a chemistry show for children. The ceremonial opening was attended by ESA backup astronaut Major Aleš Svoboda and three-time NASA veteran Andrew J. Feustel. The project is implemented in cooperation with the city of Brno, the South Moravian Region, and the Brno Observatory and Planetarium. The goal is to motivate young people toward STEM fields and showcase Czech space activities.
