Theatre World Brno 2026 – International Theatre Festival
Mahenovo divadlo, Brno
The international Theatre World Brno festival runs from 12 to 24 May 2026 and presents its 17th edition. The festival offers more than 90 performances and other events on the stages of nearly all Brno theatres – National Theatre Brno, City Theatre Brno, Husa na provázku Theatre, Polárka Theatre, Radost Theatre, and artistic venues at JAMU (Studio Marta, Theatre on Orlí). New venues include the reconstructed Co.Labs independent theatre centre and the literary salon Residence Café Kaprál. The programme opens on 12 May at Janáček Theatre with the world-renowned dance ensemble Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT 2) performing an evening of choreography by Folkå and SAABA. This year's edition focuses on Nordic playwrights – the programme includes productions of Wild Duck (Ibsen, Mahenovo Theatre, 14 May), A Doll's House (Norwegian-French co-production by Plexus Polaire, Mahenovo Theatre, 16–17 May) and Hedda Gabler (National Theatre, Mahenovo Theatre, 18 May). The festival also presents a grand dance-puppet production My Homeland by Forman Brothers Theatre (16 and 17 May, Janáček Theatre) and collaborates with the German festival Theater der Welt. Tickets are on sale online on the festival website and at the customer centre of the National Theatre Brno. When purchasing four or more tickets for different performances, a 25% discount is automatically applied.
