Morjane Ténéré is a French singer-songwriter whose music blends raw blues roots with the delicacy of folk.
Ténéré means "desert" in the Tuareg language - a reference to the African region famous for its endless sand dunes and the legendary Tree of Ténéré, a solitary acacia once considered the most isolated tree on Earth. This symbolism of solitude, beauty, and defiance runs through the themes of her songs: the fragility of the planet, respect for ancestors, and the bonds of mutual understanding.
She has shared her work with audiences at hundreds of venues around the world - performing in legendary Parisian concert halls and eco-villages, in independent Athenian theatres and from a lighthouse above the wild waters of the Icelandic Atlantic.
