Toyen + Jerusalem + Nebezpečné Známosti

TOYEN
A guitar band from the 1990s named after the world-renowned Czech painter. The group was founded in early 1989 by three former members of the new-wave band Letadlo - drummer Jiří Šimeček, bassist Petr Václavek, and guitarist Ivo Heger - and crystallized into a quartet with vocalist Petr Chromovský. Their blend of guitar pop with Prague atmosphere quickly attracted listeners and media attention; the song "Po stopách zmizelých železnic" was among the biggest hits of 1990. The band soon received an invitation to the USA, where they performed at the legendary CBGB's club, and their video "Last Free Swans" aired on MTV. TOYEN returned to Czech-language material on the album "Malíř smutnej" (1993), and that same year opened for Depeche Mode's Prague concert. From 2010-15 the band performed in its original lineup; now they return with one change - drummer Vlasta Stárek takes over from Jiří Šimeček, who remains with the band as a non-performing member.

JERUSALEM
Formed over 30 years ago, the group moves between gothic rock and pop. After another hiatus, they reunited this year and are returning to performing. Jerusalem was initially close to the bands Oceán and Shalom; around the turn of the millennium, vocalist Jan Dvořák collaborated with Petr Muk. The band focuses exclusively on original compositions.

NEBEZPEČNÉ ZNÁMOSTI
Founded in 1999 by former members of Toyen, The Trial, Shannen Grey, and Decline, the band describes their music as neo-romantic post-punk - a bittersweet ode to 21st-century urban life and complex human relationships. They cite influences including Depeche Mode, Clan Of Xymox, The Cure, and Joy Division.
