The Regional Museum and Gallery in Most was founded in 1888 and occupies the former German Realgymnasium at the foot of Hněvín castle - one of the few surviving buildings from the demolished old town, listed as a cultural monument. Permanent exhibitions cover the geology of north-west Bohemia, church art from the Most region, and the jewellery of Baroness Ulrika von Levetzow, Goethe's last love.
