An intimate presentation in the Buquoy Library is part of the Castle 2026 tour route, which is the only available route this year due to ongoing castle renovations. The route is accessible from April to September 2026.
The exhibition titled "Books About Travel and for Travel" in the Buquoy Library showcases titles on geography, maps, travel guides, and travel narratives from the 18th to the early 20th century. Guided tours are enhanced with information about the hunting expedition of Karel Jiří Buquoy to Ceylon in 1912. In summer, evening costume tours will return as part of the Castle and Manor Night, inspired by Count Buquoy's return from India and Ceylon.
The presentation is part of the 16th edition of the nationwide project "In the Footsteps of Noble Families" by the National Heritage Institute, with the subtitle "Nobility on the Move." The project transports visitors to the "long 19th century," when the development of rail, maritime, and later automobile transport enabled the nobility to discover distant corners of the world in Asia, Africa, and America. Travel-themed motifs come alive at more than forty National Heritage Institute monuments throughout the Czech Republic.
