The concert "Souboj Klavírů" takes place on Wednesday, 27 May 2026 at Smetanův dům in Litomyšl. Ondřej Brzobohatý presents a two-piano programme that explores music through humour and philosophy. This is the first of three Czech dates on his tour — after Litomyšl, performances follow in Příbram in June and Brno in December. The concert offers musical jokes and playful questions about how Beethoven's "Fate" might sound in an optimistic version or what "inappropriate" music means. Admission starts from 890 CZK.

About the venue: Smetana House

Smetanův dům is Litomyšl's main cultural centre and a listed heritage building. The neo-Renaissance structure with Art Nouveau elements was built in 1903-1905 to designs by Jan Šula, Viktorin Šulc and Josef Velflík, and opened on 11 June 1905. The large hall functions primarily as a theatre stage, while the venue also hosts concerts, a ball season, the Litomyšl Music Evenings and the Smetanova Litomyšl festival. A summer open-air stage stands in the park beside the building.

About: Ondřej Brzobohatý

Born on 2 February 1983 in Prague, Ondřej Gregor Brzobohatý is a multifaceted Czech artist trained at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in composition, piano and conducting. The son of actor Radoslav Brzobohatý and Slovak actress Hana Gregorová, he gained initial recognition as host of the first Czech Pop Idol season in 2004. His primary focus remains composition work - creating musicals, film scores and solo recordings - alongside regular performances with symphony orchestras and partnerships with major Czech musicians.

Born on 28 March 1981 in Prague, Ondřej Brousek is a Czech actor, musician, composer and director belonging to the renowned Brousek acting family. He completed his music-drama studies at the Prague Conservatory and has performed as keyboardist with Monkey Business since 1999, while serving as an ensemble member of Divadlo na Vinohradech from 2013 onwards. His compositional work encompasses stage music, film scores and symphonic compositions, including three symphonies premiered in Prague, Zlín and the Municipal House; he also performs with Ondřej Gregor Brzobohatý in the two-piano programme "Souboj klavírů", which merges classical music with comedy and improvisation.
