From Madrigals to Chanson

This concert project traces the history of music chronologically from the Renaissance madrigal to modern chanson. The programme is divided into separate pieces featuring virtuosic piano playing, operatic singing, and chanson vocals.

A trio of transverse flute, voice, and piano will perform works by Monteverdi, Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Delibes, and Debussy, with excerpts from Rusalka and Carmen, as well as songs by Edith Piaf and Enyi. The choir from Palachova Primary School will perform in the finale.
