Description was written before the event

During the Castle Night at Hluboká Castle on Saturday, August 22, you will be transported from Hluboká to the equator. Costumed tours will draw you into the feverish preparations for another safari adventure of Adolf and Hilda Schwarzenberg.

About the venue: Hluboká Castle

Hluboká Castle (Schloss Frauenberg) rises on a steep promontory above the Vltava river, about 9 km north of České Budějovice. The site began as a royal fortress in the 13th century and passed to the Schwarzenberg family in 1661; between 1840 and 1871 they rebuilt it in the romantic Neo-Gothic style modelled on Windsor Castle. The National Heritage Institute now administers the castle, which stays open year-round across several guided tour routes. The former riding hall next door houses the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery, known for its Dutch and Flemish masters.
