LiStOVáNí.cz: Špeky

LiStOVáNí.cz presents a reading of Rob Grant's novel Špeky, author of Red Dwarf. The story follows two characters: a chef who cannot look in the mirror because he is extremely obese, and a young woman with anorexia who cannot look in the mirror because she finds herself disgustingly fat. It is not just about overweight people - it is about how sensitive the topic of weight and appearance is for society as a whole. And of course, Grant's typical dark humour is present: "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics!"

Starring Pavel Oubram and Věra Hollá (Kamila Janovičová). The book was published by Argo in 2008 in a translation by David Petrů.
