Slam Poetry in Dock Special (Open Air) — Dock, Ostrava

An evening of slam poetry featuring the cream of the Czech scene: Anatol Svahilec, Jaromír Konečný and others. Weather permitting, the event will move outdoors to the garden in front of Dock. All seating is provided, and student discounts are available.

Anatol Svahilec - Czech Slam Poetry Champion (2014) and two-time duo slam champion. Wikipedia editor, activist, and dynamic performer. Author of slam collections Emu mele maso, Přece se to nevyhodí, Motorové sáně and Nemel a mluv.

Jaromír Konečný - Emigrated to Germany in 1982, where he became a central figure in the German slam poetry scene. With 150 slam victories to his name, he was twice runner-up at the German-speaking countries championship. He played a key role in bringing slam poetry to the Czech Republic. His Czech-language books include Moravská rapsodie, Hiphop a smuteční marš and Tuhej tulipán.

Šimon Felenda - Finalist in the Czech slam championship, duo slam champion (2019). A performer, rapper and journalist from České Budějovice now based in Prague.

Bradka - Finalist and runner-up in the Czech championship. An improviser and regular on the Brno slam poetry circuit, originally from Nový Pacov.

Dany - The evening's wild card. A graduate of the Brno slam school with Moravian roots. A professional IT troubleshooter, lecturer, Bo Burnham enthusiast and recreational drummer. He loves combining absurd humour with serious themes.
