Kiyari Kuzushi: Traditional Japanese Dance and Hauta Singing

A three-hour workshop led by Japanese artist Senju Einojo, exploring traditional Japanese dance and hauta - short songs accompanied by shamisen, rooted in old Edo culture.

Participants will gradually learn the song Kiyari Kuzushi, master its singing, and acquire a simple traditional choreography. This is not a passive demonstration - everyone will personally experience the integration of voice, rhythm, movement, and gesture, leaving with knowledge of a specific piece from the traditional Japanese repertoire. The workshop suits complete beginners; no prior experience in Japanese dance or singing is required.

What to bring: if you own a yukata or haori, bring them along. Traditional dress is not mandatory - come in comfortable black clothing that allows free movement. All participants should bring clean white socks.
