Japanese Tea Gathering
A tea ceremony is far more than the preparation of a cup of tea - it is a tradition spanning over four hundred years that unites aesthetics, hospitality, and mindfulness. Under the guidance of Markéta Sókei Reiter Fujita, a certified teacher of the Urasenke school with more than thirty years of experience, you will sit as a guest at a Japanese tea gathering and observe from close range the preparation of matcha tea in the bonryaku temae (ryakubon) form - a simplified arrangement of the Urasenke school.
The gathering includes traditional Japanese sweets (wagashi or higashi), freshly prepared matcha usucha tea, and a guided commentary on the Japanese Way of Tea. Both the preparation and the guests' seating take place at a low table.
Duration: 60 minutes | Capacity: 10 people | Suitable for complete beginners and those interested in Japanese culture.
