Two Decis of Ink

Two Decilitres of Ink is a biographical documentary about Petr Geisler (1949-2009) - a Japanologist, translator, journalist, educator and calligrapher. The film is directed by his daughter Ester Geislerová.

Through photographs, home videos, letters and memories, the film constructs a portrait of an extraordinarily educated and original charmer who remained mysteriously elusive even to those closest to him. The film balances both the intimate and family dimensions - joyful and painful alike - with Geisler's place in Czech cultural life at the end of the twentieth century.
