Summer Cinema at Zvon: 15 x 15 x 5 (Minisalon 1984)

GHMP in collaboration with Zvon bar and Aerofilms presents an open-air summer cinema on the shaded courtyard of the House at the Stone Bell, right on Old Town Square. The cinema is part of the accompanying programme for the exhibition Headless Horseman / Bolf Mančuška Šerých Vaněk.

A film essay about the boundaries of freedom centres on the illegal experiment Minisalon, which artist and dissident Joska Skalník organised in 1984. He sent square boxes across the Czechoslovak art scene with an invitation to free artistic play - resulting in a collection of 244 artworks by artists who were often silenced at the time: Margita Titlová-Ylovsky, Michael Rittstein, Mária Bartuszová, Stanislav Kolíbal, Kurt Gebauer, Tamara Kolenčíková, Čestmír Suška, Adriena Šimotová, Rudolf Sikora, Otis Laubert, the Válovy sisters, Vladimír Kokolia, Libor Fára, Květa Pacovská and others.

The film interweaves testimonies from project participants with archival materials and layers of visual play.
