Joska Skalník

About

Joska Skalník was a Czech visual artist, graphic designer and dissident active in the underground culture of normalisation-era Czechoslovakia. In 1984 he organised the illegal Minisalon project, mailing small square boxes to artists across the country and collecting 244 works from creators who were largely silenced at the time. He was also a close collaborator of Václav Havel and contributed to the visual identity of the Velvet Revolution.
