Iconic Program - Beautiful Confusion Collective
A solo performance by Becky McFadden inspired by her lifelong obsession with figure skating and her brief competitive career - created by the makers of Black Dress, a Thalia Prize-winning production. Iconic Program draws from the structure of this sport, its archetypes, narratives, and competitive formats, embracing failure as liberation. There is no ice here, but skating happens nonetheless - expect deep grooves and bent knees. Despite its generous dose of humour, the work carries an almost therapeutic dimension.
On stage, Becka McFadden untangles contradictory thoughts and feelings to relive, process, and find healing from her trauma. At the end, she performs an imperfect yet profoundly liberating figure-skating choreography - the same one she executed publicly for the first time in years, purely for her own joy. Latecomers will not be admitted after the performance begins. The INDUSTRA theatre bar opens one hour before the start and remains open after the show depending on visitor interest. We love animals at INDUSTRA, but the theatre hall is not a suitable environment for them due to the loud sound - we recommend leaving your four-legged friends at home. Visitors in wheelchairs and holders of ZTP/P certificates are asked to notify us in advance at stage@industra.space so we can arrange an appropriate seat in time.
