Brutus

The band Brutus will perform at Melodka na Střeláku. The group was founded in 1966 under the name Mandragora in Rakovník and during the normalization period was repeatedly forced to suspend its activities and resume under different names - in 1973 as Elektronik, in 1980 as Brutus, and in 1982 as Kyklop. After the Velvet Revolution, the band performs under the name Brutus and tours throughout the Czech Republic with their four-hour concerts, regularly performing six-hour shows in the 1980s - from concert halls in major cities to community centers in remote villages.

The band has appeared in several films: in 1995 they performed in Saša Gedeon's film Indian Summer, a fragment of their song "It Seems to Me" forms the theme for the sitcom Comeback and band members appear in two of its episodes. The song "Gorilla" was heard in the film District Championship by Jan Prušinovský, and the band also appears in the film Two Brides and One Wedding by Tomáš Svoboda.

Brutus has collaborated with or performed alongside UK Subs, TV Smith, Dr. Feelgood, Zóna A, No Name, and has a long-term collaboration with British band The Vibrators.
