Beata Bocek + Bezobratři
Czech-Polish singer-songwriter Beata Bocek creates at the intersection of folk, world music, and intimate songwriting. She sings in Czech, Polish, and her own "inner" language that emerges intuitively in the moment. On stage she combines accordion, guitar, and ukulele, building layered soundscapes with a looper.
At Alterna she will present songs from her current album Bílo.
Bezobratři was formed in 2004 on the initiative of Pavel Císařík, Marek Gonda, and Jan Glemba - three enthusiasts of folk wind instruments. The name refers to the black elder tree from which their pipes, mouthpieces, and flutes were made. Originally a trio performing solo showcases of various folk instruments, the ensemble has grown over time to include additional musicians and a richer sound.
