A Well-Played Game — Bolka Polívka Theatre – White House, Brno

A Well-Played Game is a conversational comedy about the power of friendship, willingness to help one another, and staying close - even when it is not always easy. The play is gripping, sometimes funny, sometimes profound, and allows the actors to push beyond the boundaries of their life and theatrical experience.

The main character is a bitter aging widower, Fred Kowinski, convinced that nothing in the modern world makes sense for him and that it is not worth seeing other people - except for an old friend with whom he regularly meets to play chess. Neither his son nor the hired housekeepers he quickly dismisses can change his mind.

Until the spirited housekeeper Rozalie enters his unchanging, morose life and plays her own game with him - but not on a chessboard, and moreover according to her own rules.
