Michaela Koudelková: The Recorder Through the Centuries — Vila Tugendhat, Brno
Description was written before the event

The recorder is an instrument of many types, sizes, tunings, and timbres. At this evening concert, virtuoso recorder player Michaela Koudelková will journey through several countries where the instrument established itself firmly - the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Denmark. The programme spans from early and high Baroque through Romanticism to the 20th century, when the recorder inspired composers to explore modern techniques.

Michaela Koudelková is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków (cum laude), the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg (triple cum laude), and doctoral studies at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno. As a prize-winner of numerous international competitions, including first prize at the Tel Aviv Recorder Competition, she performs as a soloist and with renowned early music ensembles throughout Europe, and teaches at conservatories, music academies, and summer courses.

Programme: Jacob van Eyck, Georg Philipp Telemann, Narcisse Bousquet and others.

Ticket holders will be offered a welcome drink on the terrace of Villa Tugendhat from 17:00.
