The photography exhibition 'Village of Řídeč - where Haná ends and the Low Jeseníky mountains begin' captures life in a small village on the border between Haná and the Low Jeseníky region.

About the venue: Lapidarium - The Story of Stone Exhibition

This permanent exhibition of the Vlastivědné muzeum Olomouc has been housed since 2013 in the baroque cellar vaults of the former Jesuit university palace on Denisova Street, designed by Giovanni Pietro Tencalla and built in 1701-1708. Ten thematic stops trace stone in three forms: raw rock, shaped tool, and work of art. The geology section covers minerals and fossils of the Olomouc region, while the archaeology section features stone tools and a Celtic dugout boat found at Lake Mohelnice in 1999. The lapidary closes with sculptures, reliefs and architectural fragments from the Romanesque period to the Baroque, including a wayside cross from Hodolany (1527) and a sandstone statue of St. Maurice from around 1690.
