Pudlax

Pudlax is a trio of siblings Klára and Jan Pudlák and drummer Jakub Švejnar, bringing together modern jazz with free improvisation at the intersection of composition and spontaneity. The music emerges from the ideas of pianist Jan Pudlák and develops through collective dialogue among all three members — working with jazz idioms, free improvisation, and twentieth-century compositional techniques. In 2023, the trio released their debut album 11 mg on the Czech label Ma Records.

All three are also members of the group Uthando. Klára Pudláková further performs in the ensembles Avokaduo, 2in2out, Maomah, and in the duo Toša with Michał Wróblewski. Jan Pudlák plays in the ensembles Empyrean Sextet, Crescent Quartet, and Tonya Graves Band. Jakub Švejnar is a member of the trio Jungle Debris and the quartet Dust in the Groove.

The trio will spend the entire day at Divadlo 29 as part of a mini-residency aimed at recording a live concert performance.
