The Nepomuk Pilgrimage Fair is the most significant and best-attended event of the year in Nepomuk, held annually on the occasion of the feast of Saint John of Nepomuk (May 16). In 2026, the fair runs from Friday, May 15 through Sunday, May 17. The programme begins on Friday evening with the opening of fairground attractions in Augustin Nemejc Square. Saturday brings the main wave of celebrations: from 9:00 an old-Czech market fair on Presanická Square, at 9:45 a church procession with a statue and a solemn pilgrimage mass celebrated by three bishops (Monsignor Jan Graubner, Monsignor Tomáš Holub and others) — this year marked by a historic moment: the formal joining of the Nepomuk parish to the Plzeň Diocese. At 14:00 the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra performs a concert in the church, and at 18:30 Ivan Hlas Trio takes the stage at the Small Summer Stage. In the Unibrick area, a family fun zone with bouncy castles, clown Pepina, and concerts by ABBA Stars (18:00), Kečup (20:00) and Ukradený vjecy (22:00) runs from 14:00. An evening concert by V3Ska band takes place at Zelenohorská Post. Violinist Jaroslav Svěcený performs with pianist Lucia Karlova (15:00) in the courtyard of Zelená Hora Castle. Sunday follows tradition: the folk ensemble Pšeničky, dance group Shahinez, and flutist Eva Haufová perform. Museums are open throughout the weekend — the Saint John Museum, Veterans Museum, and an exhibition of Petr Toman's paintings titled "Landscapes of Pošumaví". At Presanická Square, the Knights of Žichovice, Max Fischer's Panopticum, and the Jazzindustry band perform. Fair attractions include swan boats, a go-kart track, a chain carousel, and an old-Czech shooting gallery. Parking is provided at three free parking lots (Best Drive, Pyramida, by the swimming pools).
