LARP Design Weekend

The LARP design weekend is organized by the Brno-based non-profit INspire at the Scout Institute in Brno (Moravské náměstí 12) on May 15–17, 2026. The event is designed for up to 20 young people aged up to 30 who want to learn how to design a LARP — from world-building and character creation through relationships to game mechanics. The goal is to understand how to design these elements so that the game runs smoothly, mechanics make sense, characters are interesting, and relationships are fun to play. During the weekend, participants will immerse themselves in two worlds: steampunk and Arthurian. At the end of the entire process, a fully functional LARP will be created, and all participants will have the opportunity to help organize it. Participation in the weekend assumes an interest in continuing LARP preparation even after the design phase. The working language is English at a communicative level — fluency is not required. Entry is free; organizers collect a refundable deposit of 20 € or 500 CZK, which will be returned at the end of the weekend. Organizers do not provide lunch — participants can bring their own or use nearby restaurants (Albert is a 1-minute walk away). Previous LARP-making experience is not necessary. The event is co-financed by the European Union (Erasmus+). Registration is mandatory in advance.
